Grid Restoration Challenge simulates real-world power crisis scenarios. Teams of four to five students from diverse academic backgrounds collaborate through five progressively challenging rounds to diagnose system failures, analyze crisis situations, and develop comprehensive power restoration strategies.

Round 1: Foundational Knowledge

MCQ Assessment

Customized MCQs covering power system fundamentals and crisis management principles.

Round 2: Visual Analysis

Fault Identification

Visual analysis and logical reasoning tasks using randomized fault identification scenarios on power distribution networks.

Round 3: Collaborative Analysis

Decision Making

Collaborative scenario analysis focusing on decision-making for typical blackout causes with low-pressure team dynamics.

Round 4: Crisis Simulation

High-Intensity

High-intensity, time-bound multi-layered crisis simulation with resource constraints, information gaps, and dynamic surprise elements.

Round 5: Championship

Final Presentation

Comprehensive restoration plan development and live presentation with expert panel Q&A session.

Rules & Regulations

Device Policy: Electronic devices (smartphones, tablets, calculators) permitted only when explicitly authorized by event facilitators for specific rounds.
Time Management: Strict adherence to round-wise time limits is required.
Content Integrity: Each team receives unique, randomized question sets, scenarios, and challenges to ensure originality and prevent collaboration between teams.
Professional Conduct: Respectful behavior toward organizers, judges, and fellow participants is required; violations may lead to disqualification.
Judging Process: Transparent evaluation based on predefined criteria including accuracy, creativity, teamwork, presentation skills, and crisis management capability.
Decision Authority: Organizing committee and judges hold final authority on all competition-related decisions.
Team size must be between 2-3 members.
Registration fee is 500 INR per team.
Unauthorized device usage results in penalties.
Each institution can have a maximum of two registrations as contingents for every event
